That is precisely what the partnership between Fundaci\u00f3n Fraternidad Medell\u00edn and the Rockefeller Foundation represents. As a globally recognized philanthropic organization, the Rockefeller Foundation has placed its trust in our experience to bring the School Restaurants for Life project to the rainforest region of Urrao, Antioquia. Restaurantes Escolares para la Vida<\/strong> en la zona selv\u00e1tica de Urrao. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Through this partnership, four rural schools\u2014La Esperanza, V\u00e1squez, Mand\u00e9, and Punta de Ocaid\u00f3\u2014are undergoing a comprehensive transformation that goes far beyond improving infrastructure. The project includes solar energy systems, access to safe drinking water, school gardens that promote healthier eating habits and strengthen local food security, and a community engagement strategy that fosters ownership and long-term stewardship of these spaces. Together, these efforts benefit 333 students, 17 teachers, and nearly 900 families. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Every milestone has been the result of collective effort. Building in the rainforest region of Urrao has required overcoming extraordinary challenges. Reaching the schools often involves traveling through highly remote terrain, where transporting materials and personnel can take up to twelve hours by mule, along mountain trails, across streams, and over unstable ground, in addition to river transportation in areas that are otherwise inaccessible. Yet the collaboration between Fundaci\u00f3n Fraternidad Medell\u00edn, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Government of Antioquia, Fundaci\u00f3n Berta Mart\u00ednez, the Municipality of Urrao, and local communities has made it possible to overcome these challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions, demonstrating that when there is a shared purpose, even the most difficult paths can lead to new opportunities for hundreds of children and young people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Perhaps the greatest achievement is not found solely in the solar panels, the future school gardens, or the drinking water systems.
