With the purpose of joining efforts to eradicate hunger in the city, the Medell\u00edn Mayor\u2019s Office, \u00c1baco, the Fraternidad Medell\u00edn Foundation, EatCloud, and the Presentes Corporation have come together under the Medell\u00edn Zero Hunger alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This initiative includes different lines of action. The first is food rescue, aimed at reducing food waste. To achieve this, the EatCloud app will be implemented, connecting 1,000 points\u2014including food companies, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and stores\u2014with food banks and social organizations that serve populations in vulnerable conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second is the solidarity line, which seeks to enable business owners, foundations, and citizens to donate money through the website www.medellincerohambre.org and choose whether they want to be one-time or recurring donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With these resources, vouchers will be provided so families can claim food packages. Beneficiary households will be selected by the District Administration through a verification process of food conditions reported in official databases, in coordination with the Food Security Team, the Medell\u00edn Family Unit, food banks, and authorized foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With a contribution of 774 million pesos, Fraternidad Medell\u00edn aims to inspire many companies to join this initiative. This pilot program, over six months, will deliver 516,000 food rations to 16,831 people, ensuring access to proper nutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
