{"id":8106,"date":"2025-05-19T11:09:33","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T16:09:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fraternidadmedellin.org\/?post_type=eventos&#038;p=8106"},"modified":"2025-05-19T11:25:18","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T16:25:18","slug":"mas-por-el-bilinguismo-en-rionegro","status":"publish","type":"eventos","link":"https:\/\/fraternidadmedellin.org\/en\/eventos\/mas-por-el-bilinguismo-en-rionegro\/","title":{"rendered":"Advancing Bilingualism in Rionegro\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of a joint effort to continue advancing the public policy \u201cRionegro Biling\u00fce\u201d, the Fraternidad Medell\u00edn Foundation and the Los 8 Valores Foundation have partnered to provide high-quality English learning opportunities for students and teachers at the Instituci\u00f3n Educativa Santiago de Armas, located in the municipality of Rionegro (Antioquia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Step Toward the Future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through this program, operated by Universidad EAFIT, we aim to strengthen bilingual education at Instituci\u00f3n Educativa T\u00e9cnico Industrial Santiago de Arma and its two primary school branches: Juan Manuel Gonz\u00e1lez and Julio San\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To achieve this goal, the program will work with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>520 primary and secondary school students through extracurricular English clubs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>35 English teachers and subject-area teachers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal includes support in the design and phased implementation of the school\u2019s Institutional Bilingualism Plan, through:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teacher support, including English language training for all interested teachers, methodology and pedagogy workshops for English teachers, curriculum design guidance, and in-classroom coaching. Teachers will also participate in a local language immersion experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extracurricular English clubs for students, personalized support for 11th-grade students preparing for the Saber 11 exams, and activities to strengthen the school\u2019s English-language learning environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Program Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access to high-quality English learning opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of linguistic and cultural skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improved academic and professional prospects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening of the educational community in Rionegro<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Commitment to Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This alliance reflects the strong commitment of Fraternidad Medell\u00edn and Los 8 Valores Foundations to education and community development in Rionegro.
