At just seven years old, Camila Bustamante already dreamed of becoming the best ballet dancer in the world. Her grandmother, Alba Lucía—who knows her better than anyone—began to notice in her a deep passion and love for dance. One day, after seeing an announcement about training scholarships from Ballet Metropolitano de Medellín, supported by Fraternidad Medellín for the past 15 years, she decided to take Camila to an audition.
From the very first moment, Camila shone. With a level of discipline and conviction rarely seen in someone her age, she dedicated every free moment to rehearsals—efforts that soon began to pay off. Alongside the constant and loving support of her family and teachers, she made a life-changing decision: ballet would be her life’s project.
Today, at 14, Camila has captured the hearts of audiences with her grace and skill on stage, performing in renowned productions such as The Nutcracker and Alice in Wonderland. She has danced in Cuba, Chile, Miami, and Argentina. But her story—and her dreams—don’t stop there. Thanks to the support of Ballet Metropolitano and Fraternidad Medellín, and after a flawless audition, Camila earned a spot at the Rome Opera Ballet School—a milestone for ballet in Colombia and a tremendous achievement for her, marking the next chapter in her career.
She will spend four years in Italy, growing both personally and professionally. With this scholarship, Camila will immerse herself in the world of classical and contemporary ballet, working alongside some of the world’s most influential choreographers and dancers. Her goal is to return to Medellín and share her knowledge and experience with the local ballet community.
Camila, the girl with the ever-present smile, perfect posture, and the kindest heart, is just months away from beginning a new chapter—the result of talent, discipline, determination, intelligence, sacrifice, and unwavering family support. That dream she had years ago is about to come true, and we are proud to stand by her side as she fulfills it—powered by the spirit of Fraternidad.
