Music, another of Fraternidad’s commitments

The Music School of the Municipality of Ciudad Bolívar, Antioquia, Colombia, was founded in 1987 by Maestro Carlos Fernando López Naranjo. Since its inception, the school has worked in partnership with the Antioquia Departmental Music Band Program to strengthen and consolidate its role as a key institution for the development and nurturing of the human and artistic potential of the community of Ciudad Bolívar.

With more than 37 years of experience, the Music School has been a fundamental space for the community, creating educational, creative, and recreational environments that have had a strong impact on the sociocultural development of the municipality. The main beneficiaries of this program have been children and young people, who dedicate their free time to studying music, turning this activity into an opportunity for personal and community development.

At Fraternidad Medellín, we are always seeking new opportunities for education, culture, and entertainment for both young people and adults. In this context, music stands out as a comprehensive alternative that not only enriches the spirit but also contributes to community well-being. For this reason, since 2017, the Ciudad Bolívar Music School Corporation has been one of the 106 entities supported by Fraternidad, receiving financial resources for its music foundation programs (seed programs) and instrumental training (music band).

Currently, the school is about to inaugurate its new headquarters, and more than 400 people are already benefiting from the programs offered by the Corporation, highlighting its growing impact and importance in the region.

At Fraternidad Medellín, we continue to support musical and artistic expressions as life projects, convinced that these activities are educational and transformative agents for society.
