“Bilingual Dreams”

440 students and teachers from the Institución Educativa Concejo Municipal El Porvenir now have access to a leading English learning platform to achieve bilingualism.

In a remarkable initiative to support the public policy “Rionegro Bilingüe,” Fraternidad Medellín and the Los 8 Valores Foundation have joined Open English to provide 440 students and teachers from the Institución Educativa Concejo Municipal El Porvenir in Rionegro with access to high-quality English learning opportunities. Through the “Bilingual Dreams” program, these students will embark on a journey toward achieving bilingualism, opening doors to a brighter future full of better academic and professional prospects.

The “Bilingual Dreams” program marks a significant step toward empowering the youth of Rionegro with the language skills needed to thrive in an increasingly globalized world. The program provides students in grades 9, 10, and 11 with access to Open English, the leading online English learning platform, which now incorporates artificial intelligence to offer personalized 24/7 assistance, in addition to live classes with native-speaking teachers.

This partnership aligns perfectly with the public policy “Rionegro Bilingüe,” which aims to promote bilingualism as a driver of social mobility, significantly enhancing employability and competitiveness.

“We are very happy with this partnership. For Fraternidad, bilingualism is a very important step in building pathways of opportunity for young people,” says Magdalena Restrepo, Director of the Fraternidad Medellín Foundation. “We believe bilingualism is a key to opening a world of possibilities for our youth, and we are confident that the ‘Bilingual Dreams’ program will equip them to achieve their dreams.”

“From the Los 8 Valores Foundation, we celebrate these partnerships that support the holistic development of children and young people, contributing to the building of their life projects,” adds Federico Hoyos, Director of the Los 8 Valores Foundation.

According to Jorge Rivas, mayor of Rionegro, “the practice of a second language in educational institutions has been strengthened, and this is an opportunity to reaffirm this commitment. That is why I thank the Fraternidad Medellín Foundation, Los 8 Valores, and now Open English, which joins as a new partner to continue our vision of positioning Rionegro as a bilingual territory.”
