Throughout the history of Fraternidad Medellín, we have awarded a total of 4,549 higher education scholarships. More than 15,000 young people from four subregions of the department have also gone through the Socio-Occupational Guidance process.
We continue driving the development of Antioquia and its regions.
Education is the fundamental pillar for the holistic development of individuals and the transformation of society. At Fraternidad, we believe that it is a fundamental right that should be accessible to everyone, regardless of origin, gender, or socioeconomic condition.
Based on that premise, “60 for the 60th” was created several years ago—a 60-billion-peso fund launched to establish a major Higher Education Access Program in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Fraternidad Medellín Foundation. Since then, it has continued to grow and has benefited thousands of young people, families, and educational institutions.
The program focuses on two very important areas: Socio-Occupational Guidance and Higher Education Scholarships.
Socio-Occupational Guidance seeks to support students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade by helping them make decisions about their educational and career paths through the search for their life purpose.
On the other hand, higher education scholarships not only cover the costs of programs ranging from technical training to master’s and doctoral degrees, but also provide comprehensive support so that our scholarship recipients can develop their potential and achieve their goals.
To date, we are proud to share that, from the “60 for the 60th” fund, we have already invested 57 billion pesos, awarded 4,549 scholarships, and supported the life projects of 15,206 young people, thereby driving the development of Antioquia and its regions.
At Fraternidad Medellín, we believe that education is a powerful tool for breaking cycles of poverty and inequality. We remain committed to continuing our work so that more young people can access quality educational opportunities and build a better future for themselves and their communities.
