In an effort to provide quality education in optimal environments, Fraternidad Medellín has worked tirelessly to improve educational infrastructure in Antioquia. The result is remarkable: 117 school sites rebuilt or improved, most of them in rural areas, benefiting more than 27,000 people across 37 municipalities in the department.
Pero eso no es todo. También hemos construido 4 parques educativos, 5 escenarios deportivos y 2 centros de desarrollo infantil, ofreciendo oportunidades para que los niños y jóvenes desarrollen sus habilidades y talentos.
The impact is truly moving: improved school climate, higher student retention, better school meals thanks to adequate kitchens and dining areas, access to clean drinking water, and improved health conditions. Greater equity.
This achievement has been made possible thanks to collaboration and partnerships with the regional government, municipalities, and private institutions. Together, we have shown that it is possible to combine efforts and resources to create a positive and lasting impact on the community. The Berta Martínez Foundation, with its expertise, provides the technical management for all these projects that bring well-being to thousands of children in rural areas.
Our commitment to education and the holistic development of children and young people in Antioquia remains strong. We will continue working to improve the quality of education and to provide opportunities so that everyone can reach their full potential.
Since 2024, through different partnerships—one with the Government of Antioquia and another with the Institute for the Development of Antioquia (IDEA)—we are improving 50 school sites in the Eastern and Southwestern subregions, benefiting 8,883 rural students.
