For many years, Fraternidad Medellín has been committed to addressing school dropout, working on multiple fronts to effectively prevent it.
In 1995, we launched a nutritional support program with the Universidad de Antioquia to ensure that students living in vulnerable conditions receive proper meals during their university day.
Over the years, and with the guidance of nutritionists and experts, the program has evolved to provide each student with a meal or groceries that cover a significant portion of their daily caloric and nutritional needs.
Thanks to teamwork with U.P.B., I.T.M., Institución Universitaria Pascual Bravo, Universidad Nacional, and Universidad de Antioquia—along with financial support from Fraternidad Medellín—we are currently serving approximately 425 students each semester.
This initiative represents a shared responsibility and growing awareness around student retention and well-being. By addressing basic nutritional needs, we aim to contribute to the physical and emotional health of students, helping them stay in school and succeed.
