Tokando Scholarships is an initiative we launched 11 years ago in partnership with the Incolmotos Yamaha Foundation. The program reaches educational institutions that have been built or rebuilt by Fraternidad Medellín and provides access to music education for children and young people in situations of social vulnerability. Its purpose is to strengthen their artistic and socio-emotional skills. With an investment of 50% from Incolmotos Yamaha and 50% from Fraternidad Medellín, Tokando Scholarships seeks to promote values such as discipline, teamwork, and perseverance through music—positively impacting the lives of participants and their communities. Additionally, we work with teachers to help them adopt strategies for musical initiation that can be integrated into their pedagogical practices.
Over the past 11 years, Fraternidad has made a total investment of 1,021,182,530 million pesos. This year, we have reached 22 educational institutions, impacting 11 municipalities, 30 teachers, and more than 1,000 students.
We hope these 11 years are just the beginning of many more melodies to play and many more lives to transform. Because when it comes to helping, believing, and dreaming, there’s nothing like having a great partner like Incolmotos Yamaha.
