Forming Leaders Who Transform: Another Commitment from Fraternidad Medellín

The transformation of territories doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through vocation, education, guidance, and the belief that change is possible. At Fundación Fraternidad Medellín, we are convinced that one of the most powerful ways to plant the seeds of the future is by supporting the development of committed leaders. That’s why we actively back programs like Liderario and Emergentes, which not only teach but also inspire, mobilize, and are destined to make an impact in Antioquia.

Liderario: Leadership with Public Purpose, Plurality, and Collective Action

Liderario is a platform for connection and training that brings together leaders from the private, public, social, cultural, and academic sectors, with the goal of addressing the public challenges of the region and the country.

Over the course of eight months, participants go through a transformative process of reflection on their leadership, strengthen their capacity for influence, expand collaborative networks, and take part in territorial labs that connect theory with action.

Liderario seeks people with a vocation for service, critical thinking, creativity, and a commitment to the common good—individuals capable of turning ideas into actions that positively impact entire communities.

Emergentes: The Young Leadership School Our Times Need

While Liderario mobilizes leaders with more extensive experience, Emergentes is designed for those who dream of making an impact from their first initiatives and movements. Emergentes is a Young Leadership School aimed at youth between 18 and 28 years old who already have at least one year of experience in social, community, cultural, student, or political leadership.

Over eight months, participants dive into an experience that goes beyond traditional training: they connect learning with their territories, receive mentorship, build collaborative networks, and design initiatives with real impact.

The call for applications to Emergentes is now open. We invite young people with ideas, social commitment, and a territorial vision to join. If you believe your community, subregion, or population needs new, creative, and committed voices—this is your moment to apply.

Our Role: To Support, Inspire, and Sustain

At Fraternidad Medellín, we don’t see these programs as distant initiatives, but as strategic tools for real transformation. We aim to:

  • Promote the participation of our partners, beneficiaries, and networks in these training spaces.
  • Provide mentorship, local meetings, or logistical support to those selected.
  • Connect the outcomes of these processes with ongoing initiatives in our areas of action—ensuring that learnings don’t remain theoretical but take shape in concrete projects.

Today, we extend an open invitation to our entire community: If you know young people with emerging leadership potential—or if you yourself feel that calling—don’t miss the opportunity to apply for Emergentes at https://proantioquia.org.co/emergentes. Let’s make this opportunity resonate across our networks, let’s talk about it in our meetings, and let’s ensure this call reaches the places where new voices are ready to be heard.

Because leadership isn’t inherited—it’s built. And when it’s well guided, it can truly transform territories.
