A court, a racket, and a ball may seem like simple things. But in the hands of a child or young person who finds someone willing to believe in their potential, they can become the beginning of a different story. That is what happens at Squash Urbano Medellín, an organization that uses sports and education to open doors, broaden horizons, and support students as they pursue new dreams.
Through our Helping Those Who Help initiative, Fundación Fraternidad Medellín has supported this organization since 2026 because we share a common conviction: strengthening organizations that work directly with communities is also a way to multiply opportunities and transform lives.
At Squash Urbano Medellín, squash is just the starting point. Its educational model combines sports, education, English, personal development, and transformative experiences—five components designed to help each student grow not only as an athlete, but also as a person, a student, and a future leader. Throughout this process, students develop values and skills such as discipline, perseverance, self-control, responsibility, empathy, leadership, and teamwork.
Each week, these young people receive six or more hours of squash training and six or more hours of English instruction, providing them with a high-quality academic and athletic experience. They also participate in activities and experiences designed to support their holistic development, build their confidence, and help them discover possibilities that may once have seemed beyond their reach.
We are excited to walk alongside Squash Urbano Medellín and help more children and young people find safe spaces where they can learn, challenge themselves, discover new worlds, and believe in their own potential. Sometimes an opportunity begins with a racket and a ball. What truly matters is everything that can follow: confidence, education, dreams, and a future full of possibilities.
